The Old Mill
Dating from the early 1800s, this Grade II Listed former Mill and Cart shed has been granted full planning permission and listed building consent to convert into a 1 bedroom dwelling.
Some of the original internal mill workings are still in situ as is the wheel pit and the iron parts of the wheel itself.
The Glynch Brook which powered the Mill still runs alongside the property but the millpond which stored the water (to the North of the Mill) was filled in many years ago and is now a yard.
Current plans allow for the lower ground floor to remain unconverted, the ground floor single storey lean-to to be removed and replaced with a kitchen/breakfast room extension. There will be a sitting room with wood-burning stove and a generous entrance hallway making a feature of the original mill workings.
The second floor will be converted to provide a double bedroom and en-suite shower room.
The plans allow for a raised oak terrace linking the kitchen and entrance hall and for this to extend around the side of the building to overlook the brook.
The Mill itself is situated within generous grounds of around ½ an acre and offers excellent scope for ample parking and garden area.
On the other side of the brook is around ½ acre of woodland copse and there is also a level, stock fenced paddock of just over 3 acres. The paddock contains a number of mature fruit trees and a small pond. There is also a steel framed barn (13.7m x 6.1m) currently being utilised as a field shelter.
